Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Columbia Golf and Country Club

We joined Columbia for only a couple of years. It is located quite near the upstate house, and we were in between Clubs in Westchester. I have to say I really liked this little Club. The people were terrific and the golf course in an absolutely lovely part of the world with some fun and challenging holes.

Columbia Golf & Country Club has been rewarding and challenging golfers since 1919.  A timeless parkland style course, Columbia features tree lined fairways, small undulating greens, and picturesque views of the Catskill Mountains, lakes, and natural areas.  Set in the rolling countryside and away from the hustle and bustle, members and guests enjoy unmatched tranquility and immaculate course conditions.  Columbia is also designated a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by Audubon International, and is happy to be the home of ample wildlife.  Despite measuring 6,231 yards, the 18 hole, par 70 course has a slope/rating of 70.6/137 from the back tees, 68.9/134 from the middle tees and 71.3/123 from the forward tees, providing a true test to golfers of all abilities.  For an excellent golf experience at one of the region's premier and best value private clubs, there is no better place than Columbia Golf & Country Club. Details of the course are located here.

To accompany a classic golf course, Columbia boasts the best practice facility in the Capital Region.  With three tiers of all grass hitting areas, members and guests can sharpen their swings under true playing conditions with unlimited practice balls available every day.  The five-acre facility also has practice greens, bunkers, and chipping and pitching areas to hone touch and feel.

The Board could not have been more proactive and thoughtful about making the Club a place worth belonging to. In addition, while were members they had outsourced the catering to a couple and they did such a nice job. We often took dinners out back to our house.
