Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Casa de Campo

I took the family to the Dominican Republic to stay at Casa de Campo back in 1998.

The resort looks nothing like it did back then judging from some pictures on the website: https://www.casadecampo.com.do

I remember we took the flight into Punta Cana airport and then had a 1 hour ride to the resort. I seem to recall there was an airport strip right at the resort as well which had a couple of flights each week; kind of weird to be in the golf cart crossing the runway. Local charm.

The golf course was sensational back then, and it really looks amazing now. This is from the website: “ALL BITE, NO BARK. Pete Dye’s signature golf course, the #1 course in the Caribbean, and the #27 ranked course in the world—Teeth of the Dog has a reputation that’s well deserved. Meticulously hand carved from the rugged rock and coral of the Dominican coastline, the hard-fought and challenging creation of Teeth of the Dog is an apt description for what playing a round can be like.”

It does look incredible:

I guess I have to try to get back down there and play the course again after all these years.
