Welcome to my blog.

Isle of Skye Golf Club

I only have memories of disappointing weather, no views of the Cullins and rocky beaches unlike as advertised in our holiday brochure: that was 50 years ago. My daughter Sarah went to Skye for a long weekend in 2019 and the situation looks materially different!

And, it seems there is one gold course on the island. Here’s a link to the website: https://www.isleofskyegolfclub.co.uk

The Club was founded in 1964 as Sconser Golf Club. From the site: “Our beautiful seaside course looks out seawards towards the Isle of Raasay and inland towards the Red Cuillin mountains. Most of the nine greens have an alternative tee, giving a different approach and length second time around. We are open all year and welcome golfers of all ages and abilities. We are only a small club but the committee and green keeper work extremely hard to keep the fairways and greens in good condition. Our aim is for a playable course offering a great experience to players of all abilities.”

The course is a 9 hole, two tee set up to provide 18 holes:
