Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Round Hill

I was invited to play here in September 2021 by Peter M, one of the nicest fellows to know and play golf with. It was an event to raise funds for The Boy Scouts of America.

We had a sensational day, and I played in a foursome with Peter, David T and Tom G who has been Head Professional at The Country Club of Waterbury since 1993. We also played with Scott, one of the very best caddies I have ever played with.

Here’s a link to the Club’s website: https://www.rhclub.org, although it doesn’t really help very much other than have some nice pics. The Club is quintessentially Greenwich! Absolutely fabulous surroundings, lovely Clubhouse, beautiful tennis and pool facilities.

I really enjoyed the golf course. It has some very fine challenging holes, and I was definitely challenged on a couple of holes as I ended up shooting 81. It’s quite up and down, so do what we did and take a cart old people! You might get a sense of just what a lovely place this is and what a fabulous day we had to play from these pics:

The Boy Scouts event was to raise funds for the organization which has had some challenges. Certainly the hosts were very enthusiastic during the auction and prize giving. We thought we were doing well finishing at 10 under but the winners were in a different zip code at 32 under. That’s some golf. Sadly, the winners had left before the prize giving thus robbing the field of the spectacle of these fine athletes… .

I hope I get the opportunity to play the course again. It was a really fun course and thanks again to Peter M the ever gracious host. He played the best golf I have seen him play in recent years and nearly broke his age again.
