Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Lake Merced

My friend and former colleague Bob F managed to arrange for me to play at Merced with Mike B in xyz. B was one of the very best Consultants in our business as he and his partners took their fiduciary role very seriously indeed. They were balls achingly tough with managers and had a client list the envy of every other consultant in the US.

For some reason I got on pretty well with Mike. I think that had everything to do with Bob’s friendship with him. They had both left another Consultant at about the same time. I was at Schroders at the time, and that was a tricky time because they had blown up every single client they had in International Equities and Emerging Markets. Everyone was livid, and for other very good reasons too... . Anyway, I came into that shop before landing back with Epoch, and met a wall of anger. That was fun to deal with actually as it all took place at a different time. I really enjoyed the challenge of re-building the relationships which i think i did pretty well, as the ship was righted and but for a couple of weak leaders in NY I could have stayed there for quite some time.

anyway, back to the golf...
